Real or VReal?
Pygmalion's Spectacles:
Contemporary Hardware (Oculus Quest):
This concept is based on Pygmalion's Spectacles (1935) using a VR headset and various sensors to create a believable experience that the user can feel to be real life. Once the headset is on, the same story is told to the user but it is now modernized with the technology available today. The Oculus or any other VR headset are powerful enough to recreate the same story with realistic graphics. Audio clips are now much higher quality than they were in the 1930's so the sounds will be able to create a more immersive experience.
Statement:
There are so many experiences that can be created to feel convincing to the audience. I believe that using virtual reality can not only transport us to a new world, but also give us the chance to feel as though we are actually in that world.
